NEW YORK – has hired Edward J. McGovern, former vice president of Greenwich Group International, to head up a new office in the Washington, D.C., area.

McGovern was responsible for both equity and debt financing while at Greenwich. Previously, he handled commercial real estate valuations and dispositions for Rockwood Realty Associates. He also worked as an investment banker with Prudential Securities.

CapitalEngine last month raised $8 million of financing from Sigma Partners, a privately held venture capital firm and $2 million of seed capital from Greenwich Group. It expects to raise another $2 million investment from a group of real estate investors.'s latest office will be in Arlington, Va. The company has a staff of 17 and is scouting for talent to staff offices in the Midwest and in California – most likely the Detroit and the San Francisco and Los Angeles markets.
