Newmark Grubb Knight Frank has hired Jared A. Zimmel as a managing director in its capital group, where he'll handle investment sales in the suburban New York market.

Zimmel joins the company from Cushman & Wakefield's metropolitan-area capital markets group, where he was a director and was involved in the underwriting and sale of more than $5 billion of commercial real estate. He previously was an associate at Citigroup's CMBS and real estate finance group, where he was involved in the origination of some $2 billion of financing.
