Omega Healthcare to Buy MedEquities in $600Mln Deal

Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. has agreed to buy MedEquities Realty Trust Inc. in a deal valued at $600 million.

Omega is a Hunt Valley, Md., REIT that owns 917 healthcare facilities across the country and in the United Kingdom and leases them to third-party operators, typically under triple-net agreements. Its purchase of MedEquities will add 34 properties with 2,755 beds in seven states. Those too are leased to third-party operators.
