D.C. Purchases Parcel for Hotel Development

The Washington Convention Center Authority will buy a half-acre parcel of land at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Ninth Street in Northwest Washington, D.C. The site will be used to develop a 1,220-room hotel near the city's convention center. The parcel also includes a historic 90 year-old building and small lot owned by the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. A purchase price was not disclosed.
