The University of Texas at Austin has paid $1.5 million for a 2.4-acre parcel that will serve as a permanent site for its University of Texas Elementary School campus. The property, which was appraised for about $1 million more than the purchase price, was sold by Austin developer Perry Lorenz. The university plans to build a 50,000-square-foot building on the site of the current elementary school campus, 220 E. Sixth St., as well use a half-acre site adjacent to the property.
