Oakland, Calif., apartments sell for nearly $10Mln

OAKLAND, Calif. - Marcus & Millichap's San Francisco office has represented a private investor in the sale of the Lakepoint Apartments here for roughly $9.9 million, or $111,932/unit. Property Counselors Inc. represented the buyer, another area investor. The four-story, 88-unit, Class-B complex is at 257 Vernon St. near Lake Merritt and Adam's Point. The property was constructed in 1970 and underwent about $500,000 in capital improvements in the past 18 months. The unit mix consists of 20 studios, 53 one-bedroom units and 15 two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 435 to 1,177 square feet.

Pacific Property buys Reseda, Calif., apartments for $8Mln

RESEDA, Calif. – Pacific Property Co. has acquired the 141-unit Villa La Paloma Apartments for more than $8 million. As a result of the transaction, the company's West Coast apartment communities now total 3,468 units.
